To promote a culture of professional behavior within the medical education community, ensuring the delivery of healthcare that meets the highest standards of quality and professionalism. Mission: This unit aims to develop and implement a comprehensive system for evaluating, measuring, and enhancing professional behavior among medical students, residents, and faculty. This system will serve as a foundation for developing a healthcare workforce characterized by integrity, compassion, accountability, and commitment to patient care. Objectives: Develop a validated evaluation framework to measure professional behavior in the context of medical education. Establish clear guidelines and objectives for professional behavior, in alignment with global and local accreditation standards. Provide continuous training and support for students, residents, and faculty in developing and maintaining professional behavior. Implement a system to identify, address, and rectify deficiencies in professional behavior. Conduct research to continuously improve professional behavior in medical education. Strategies: Developing the Evaluation Framework: Review existing frameworks and best practices for evaluating professional behavior in health education. Collaborate with medical education experts, faculty, and students to create a comprehensive evaluation tool that captures key areas of professional behavior. Pilot the evaluation framework and refine it based on feedback and experimental data. Ensure the evaluation tool is valid, reliable, and feasible for wide implementation. Guidelines and Standards: Establish a set of guidelines for professional behavior that align with accreditation standards, institutional values, and ethical principles. Define clear standards for acceptable and exemplary professional behavior, focusing on patient care, ethical decision-making, interprofessional collaboration, and continuous professional development.
